Best Behavior streaks to victory in Sugar Swirl S. (G3)
December 26, 2015
Into Mischief’s classy mare Best Behavior had the best showing of her career in Saturday’s $100,000 Sugar Swirl S. (G3) at Gulfstream Park, rolling to a two-length victory after taking the lead from Dogwood Trail outside of the quarter pole before cruising to the win under John Velazquez.
“It worked out perfect. Here’s the thing, we expected those two horses (runner-up Stonetastic and Dogwood Trail) to go, but we wanted to come out running in case something changed, and it did right away, so I was glad to come out running and be where I was,” Velazquez said. “Once I got to the half-mile pole it was very nice.”
Best Behavior, 5, is owned by Miller Racing LLC and is now 9-9-6 in 28 starts and has earned $344,018, including a win in the $110,000 Glass Slipper S. a year ago and running second in the Rampart S. (G3) just two weeks ago.
Best Behavior is Into Mischief’s third graded stakes winner this year and one of his eight black type horses overall in 2015. Bred to 215 mares this past season, Into Mischief stands at Spendthrift Farm for $45,000 live foal in 2016.
