Jimmy Creed first-timer scores at Gulfstream Park
August 20, 2017
Red Peril became Jimmy Creed’s eighth winner from his first crop on Aug. 20 in a five-furlong maiden special weight affair for 2-year-olds at Gulfstream Park.
The chestnut colt overcame a three-length deficit in the final furlong to win his debut by a half-length in a very good :58.23 seconds over a surface rated “good”.
The winner was bred by Hargus and Sandra Sexton and Silver Fern Farm. Red Peril is the second foal out of Chokoloskee, who is a half-sister the Grade 1 winner and millionaire Gayego.
Jimmy Creed’s first crop of runners have been nothing short of sensational. He leads all Freshman Sires by stakes horses, with five, is one of only three sires with a graded stakes winner and multiple repeat winners, and ranks third by winners and progeny earnings.
