First Jimmy Creed 2YO of 2018 brings $400K
March 13, 2018
The Tuesday session of the March 13-14 OBS Two-Year-Olds in Training sale featured the first Jimmy Creed 2-year-old offered at auction this year, with bidders going up to $400,000 before Justin Casse secured the chestnut colt on behalf of Zayat Stable.
Eddie Woods consigned the colt, hip No. 35. Anticipation was high for the second foal out of Sliced Bread, whose lone runner to date is the Jimmy Creed colt Kanthaka, winner of this year’s San Vicente S. (G2) and third in the San Felipe S. (G2). Sliced Bread is a half-sister to Proud Heiress, who won or placed in eight stakes.
Jimmy Creed’s first crop, which were 2-year-olds of 2017, included six stakes horses, led by Sorrento S. (G2) Spectator. His top-five ranked second crop has already racked up $462,000 in earnings.
