Into Mischief filly romps in TDN Rising Star debut
November 26, 2016
Lucy Goosey shook loose of her competition in the stretch Saturday at Churchill Downs as the 2-year-old Into Mischief filly rolled home a 9 1/4-length winner in her career bow.
Into Mischief is the nation’s leading sire of 2-year-olds in 2016, with 31 juvenile winners to date, at least five more than any other sire. Lucy Goosey is Into Mischief’s first TDN Rising Star and joins the illustrious company of Goldencents, who would go on to become a two-time Breeders’ Cup winner and is now at stud with Into Mischief at Spendthrift.
After stalking the pace for a half-mile, Lucy Goosey came four-wide into the stretch with a full head of steam and simply decimated the competition as she stopped the clock in 1:23.59 on a fast main track for the seven furlongs (VIDEO).
Bred in Kentucky by Rock Ridge Thoroughbreds, Goose Martini is a daughter of Fair Grounds Oaks (G2) winner Real Cozzy, who also ran second in the Kentucky Oaks, Mother Goose S. and Acorn S., all Grade One events.
