Battle At Sea rules in stakes debut
March 24, 2018
Into Mischief chalked up another 3-year-old stakes winner on March 24 when Battle At Sea, making his stakes debut, took the $75,000 Crescent City Derby at Fair Grounds.
Leading all the way in the 1 1/16-mile contest, the Three Diamonds Farm colorbearer controlled the pace and had plenty of run left in the stretch, winning by 2 1/4-lengths in 1:44.90 on the fast main track.
Bred by Clear Creek Stud, Battle at Sea is out of Mystery At Sea, a half-sister to millionaire Desert Waves and the dam of stakes winner Cook Some Rice.
Into Mischief already has 11 stakes horses this year, including leading 3-year-old Audible, who will run in the April 1 Florida Derby (G1), and two-time 2018 stakes winner Miss Sunset.
