Golden Mischief scores fifth career stakes victory
July 6, 2018
Golden Mischief rolled to a five-length victory in the $100,000 Saylorville S. on July 5 at Prairie Meadows to give the 4-year-old Into Mischief filly her first stakes win of 2018 and fifth overall.
The six-furlong Saylorville was never in doubt after Golden Mischief launched her bid with three furlongs to run. In hand while going four-wide into the stretch, she inhaled the leaders and drew off impressively under Florent Geroux to stop the timer in 1:09.49 (VIDEO).
Golden Mischief earned a 94 Beyer Speed Figure for her win, the second-best of her career. Owned by Juddmonte Farms, she is now 8-3-0 in 19 starts and has earned $469,400.
The winner is out of the stakes-placed mare Lanai City, who is a sister to multiple graded stakes winner Eagleton. She originally sold for $180,000 at the OBS Fasig-Tipton Winter Mixed sale as a yearling in 2015.
Into Mischief is a top-five General Sire this year with nearly $7 million in progeny earnings and 100 winners to date.
