Into Mischief Colt Romps Again at PARX
October 22, 2018
Into Mischief’s promising 2-year-old colt Maximus Mischief remained perfect through his first two career starts with an eye-catching six-length victory in a PARX allowance race on Saturday, earning TDN Rising Star status for Cash Is King LLC and LC Racing and trainer Robert Reid Jr.
A romping 8 ¾-length wire-to-wire winner of a 5 ½-furlong maiden special weight in his unveiling Sept. 29 at PARX, where he earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 82, the bay colt once again took command leaving the gate in his second start. He scampered clear to win the seven-furlong test as he pleased under Frankie Pennington and has never been headed in his first two appearances.
Bought by Charles Zacney for $340,000 from the consignment of Cary Frommer after breezing an eighth in :10 1/5 at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training at Timonium in May, Maximus Mischief was bred in Kentucky by Martha Jane Mulholland. He originally sold as a weanling for $165,000 to Machmer Hall out of the Mulholland Springs consignment at Keeneland November. He is produced from the Songandaprayer mare Reina Maria, a half-sister to Grade 1 stakes winner Secret Compass.
