Winner #4 for Goldencents at Churchill Downs
June 28, 2018
Goldencents became the first Kentucky-based Freshman Sire to get four winners on Thursday when Thousand Percent sprinted to a 2 1/2-length victory in a five-furlong contest for 2-year-olds at Churchill Downs.
The Steve Asmussen trainee took command in upper stretch after a three-wide rally, drawing off smartly to stop the timer in :58.38 on a fast main track (VIDEO).
Thousand Percent is owned by L and N Racing LLC and was bred in Florida by Carlos Rafael. The bay colt’s dam Ricki S is a full sister to Brass Hat, a six-time graded stakes winner of over $2.1 million.
Among Goldencents’ four winners is Bano Solo, who also won at Churchill Downs on June 23, and was named a TDN Rising Star for the effort.
