Goldencents filly unleashes big rally to break maiden
October 5, 2018
Love and Love made a big move on the turn, then out-fought Molly’s Party in the stretch to break her maiden by a neck on Oct. 5 over the Belmont Park inner turf course.
The 2-year-old filly marks the 20th winner for Goldencents, which is eight more than any other First-Crop sire of 2018. Spendthrift Farm recently announced Goldencents’s 2019 fee at $20,000 live foal.
Content to sit several lengths from the front while three-wide on the turns, Love and Love joined a four-way battle for the lead in upper stretch. She and the runner-up soon separated themselves, with Love and Love getting the better of her foe to claim the victory.
The winner is owned by Ruggeri Stable and bred by Carl Bennett. Love and Love is out of Fly the Colors, a half-sister to multiple graded stakes winner Revolutionary.
