Another six-figure yearling for Flat Out
August 14, 2016
First-year sire Flat Out had a $130,000 filly at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga New York-bred Preferred Yearlings sale on Aug. 14, the second six-figure auction yearling of the week for the Spendthrift stallion.
Vinery Sales, agent for Windhorse Thoroughbreds, consigned hip No. 454, which went to St. Elias, J. J. Crupi agent. The colt’s dam Mischief Maker was a stakes winner of over a quarter-million dollars.
Flat Out, who stood for $8,500 in 2016, was bred to over 350 mares the previous two seasons, his first years at stud following a brilliant career that saw him win three Grade 1 races and over $3.6 million.
