Top Flat Out colt brings $400K at FT Gulfstream sale

A colt from the first crop of Spendthrift stallion Flat Out sold for $400,000 at Wednesday’s Fasig-Tipton Gulfstream Sale, in the first major 2-year-old auction of 2017
The price was the most paid at auction yet for any of Flat Out’s offspring. A three-time Grade 1 winner of $3.64 million, Flat Out’s first crop of runners will hit the track this year.
Cataloged as hip No. 150 and consigned by Q Bar J Thoroughbreds, the chestnut colt was purchased by prominent owner John Oxley. The colt is a half-brother to Matron S. (G3) winner Arella Rockstar and his dam Story Untold is a half to multiple Grade 3 winner Feline Story.
