Dominus filly dominates maidens by eight lengths
September 1, 2016
U. S. A. Jewel maiden victory turned into a one-horse race about half-way through Thursday’s 5 1/2-furlong contest, when the 2-year-old Dominus filly emerged from the pack to assumed command and ultimately win by a gaudy 8 1/4-lengths.
Dominus, who stood this year at Spendthrift Farm for $3,500 live foal, now has four winners to date, including the dynamic colt Straight Fire, who earned a 98 Beyer Speed Figure in his maiden win at Del Mar.
Owned by Mistletoe Farms and John Mallory, U. S. A. Jewel was bred by Sherri Williams.
